Course description

Linguistic phylogenetics is undergoing a revolution. The methodological arsenal for making inferences about linguistic history has changed dramatically in last fiften years. This course examines recent developments in Indo-European phylogenetics and provides a hands-on introduction to current methods of phylogenetic estimation, including Maximum Parsimony, distance-based methods, and Bayes-MCMC.
